Master data in the manufacturing industry is a critical information asset at the core of business resources. However, in many cases, day-to-day operations take priority on the front lines, and master data maintenance is often neglected. In this project, we implemented a system that leverages our proprietary RPA technology to automate and streamline master data maintenance—without requiring major changes to existing operational workflows.

Background

・Each product was managed in a separate Excel file, and registration into the production management system was done manually, one entry at a time. As a result, the registration process was extremely time-consuming, and master data maintenance could not progress.

・Managing data in Excel made version control and history tracking difficult, leading to challenges in maintaining accurate information.

Solution

We developed a custom RPA solution that automatically registers data into the system using the existing Excel format already in use on-site.
With our proprietary RPA technology, we were able to flexibly implement complex registration logic that would be difficult to handle with conventional RPA tools.

Results

・By leveraging the existing Excel-based management, we achieved master data maintenance with minimal burden on on-site operations.

・Manual registration into the system was no longer necessary, making it possible to register multiple master records per day.

・With master data being consolidated into the system in real time, this initiative marked a significant first step in advancing digital transformation (DX) in production management.
